Amazing examples! I liked the example about kudos where instead of just saying congrats, add some blurb on what stood out about the person

This article also perfectly relates to a point from "Sapiens" that mentioned the fact that Homo Sapiens were able to survive compared to other prehistoric human species by forming large groups and telling stories

Yeah stories definitely help remember.

Last month I was attending this live talk about AI. One of the speakers started telling about her 80-yr old mom and how she uses Alexa without realizing it's AI. During the talk I cringed a bit and thought why people tell stories in between serious stuff. Guess what did I remember a week after the talk? You're right - the story of her mom. None of the factual serious stuff.

Thanks for sharing! Storytelling is really an essential skill everywhere now.

Another example I heard is about changing narrative to focus on the good parts. When we propose a new policy, it comes with the good and bad, and some people are going to focus on the bad. It is our job to use storytelling to focus on the positive side and what it can change in the organization. It’s part of negotiation skills.

Storytelling brings a human element into it. When it’s just a perfunctory announcement, it doesn’t mean much, but when there’s some emotion behind it, especially when you’re talking about an employee and their accomplishments, it lands completely differently.
